HI! I’M JAIME
A STUDIO FINE ARTIST
I have been an artist my whole life, but about seven years ago I quit my job and have pursued art full-time ever since.
I work in many mediums including watercolor, oil, acrylic, mixed media, and really any craft I can get my hands on! I also love shooting 35mm film.

I LIKE
Flowers, ornate gold things, board games, decorating my house, diving into waves at the beach, and fresh coconut.
I DREAM
Of a big cottage-style art studio behind my house next to my large cut flower garden where I can paint and create messes and have a tiny robot to clean up my mess behind me!
I SHOP
Thrifted or secondhand when I can! My go-to favorite purchase is a flowy dress.
a little about me
Art was part of me even before I was born. My grandmother, who is my namesake, and her mother are both talented artists. Creating with my grandmother and then living in and visiting places that she both lived in, has not only inspired me but has tied me to her and my heritage in many unexpected ways.
I have a BA in Fine Arts. Since being a teenager, I have worked over 20 different part-time jobs (including Sonic for about 4 hours). Those jobs put me through school and supported me before I finally decided to pursue art full-time. Many of these jobs were in artistic spaces including framing, floral design, art galleries, and bookbinding. All these taught me so much about other creative fields and have inspired much of my personal work.
My husband and I currently live in Salt Lake City, Utah. We have two little girls ages 3 and 1. We love traveling to see family, going to the beach, and exploring new places together as a little family of four.
Sometimes I feel like people look at me a little funny and have a lot of follow-up questions when I explain I am an artist. It is not like a normal job for sure. But if you want a little peek into what my everyday life is like as an artist, some days I am just watching my kids while my husband is at work and working on my website or emails in the evening, and other days I am consumed inside a project that has taken over a whole corner of my living room. Like a new painting with mood boards and paint water cups scattered, or a sewing project with scraps of fabric and thread everywhere.
I’ve always known I wanted to make art. But that doesn’t mean it is easy or I never struggle with the process. It is just always what I want to do at the end of the day, and what I am most excited to do when I wake up. It feels like something that is mine in a way where I not only have the skill and control that it takes but also an incredible freedom of expression.
