Permission to Rest
I love paintings when they remind me to focus on something important or something i need reminding every now and again. “Permission to Rest” is exactly that and I love how simple and whimsical this painting turned out. To take a needed little nap every now and again, or to go to bed early, or to sleep in…what a luxury. But sometimes it’s a luxury that we will not give ourselves for fear of feeling unproductive. I sometimes suffer from this because I have serious FOMO if friends are getting together, I can’t even sit down and read sometimes because I feel like I need to be doing something with my hands, and I always feel like my spare time when Summer is napping or Kris is off work should be working, painting, organizing, or even catching up on a silly show I like, even though I’m am exhausted! So here is my permission to you and to myself, to take the nap. I’ve made a painting about it so it must be important.
